Preparing for "Baby Mac"

Well, Cupcake is going to be a big sister! "Baby Mac" as SHE is lovingly called, is expected to join us this fall.
The good news is we have plenty of pink! The not so good news is...I'm the only one interested in trying for a boy after this one. Guess I really can't do that part alone....*sigh*
But we are blessed. God is good. I wouldn't trade this life for anything in the world.

In Mommy's Shoes

Over the past weekend, even though she was sick with a stomach bug, in her short bursts of energy...she started pulling Mommy's shoes.

I mean really, isn't it the cutest thing you've ever seen?!

The Toddler Bed Wins

When your newly 2 year old toddler climbs out of the crib profusely from the lowest drop point possible....The Toddler Bed Wins

When your sweet little angel is excited about the new bed, but is seemingly scared to actually sleep in it....The Toddler Bed Wins

When your presence is "requested" back into the room and specifically into the small bed....

When you find yourself asleep after several hours for the 4th night in a row....

When saying the words "I'm gonna sleep on the floor" only to find that the toddler chooses to join you....

When the bed makes so much noise as you are trying to get up quietly....

When the toddler wants to play, roll around and admire your face instead of sleep....

When you step on a noisy toy as you leave the room.....

When it's 3am and you are back in the room....

You get the point. It was definitely an adjustment. After about 2.5 weeks I finally realized we needed to sleep train all over again. However, now that all is right in the world...at bedtime from time to time....The Toddler Bed Wins. Well in most cases, it's The Toddler herself that wins ❤️

"Cupcake, how old are you?" - "Two"

It's the cutest thing and a strange obsession that started a few weeks before her birthday. The number 2.
I'm really not even sure how she got hooked on it but everything was "two".
Q: How many do you want?
A: Two
Q: How many do you have?
A: Two
Q: Do you want apples?
A: Two
Q: Do you want ten or two?
A: Two
You get the point.

So the day before her birthday it wasn't too hard to ask how old she was and prompt an answer. I'd say we lucked out ;-) But she sure loves saying the word and showing you those two precious fingers! ✌️
This picuture was the morning of her birthday. I just didn't catch the picture exactly right so the shot is somewhere between the first and second finger being fully up.

We had a great birthday party! Though admittedly I probably put in as much effort as the 1st birthday party. I just couldn't help it! This splash pad and Bubble Guppies theme was just too perfect!

And then the party drew to a close. The princess announced her party was over, removed her tiara and peaced out on her new bike. She's too much fun!

Cupcake....how old are you? Two!

Because Every Girl Should...

Know how to properly wear a hat backwards. Clearly not something she learned from me. But oh my gosh does she look cute with a hat on backwards! She has started grabbing Daddy's hats and doing this herself. NBD ;-)

Watching Cupcake sleep

I'm a sleep stalker. I admit it. But I will never apologize for it.

There is an actual reason though.... I watch her breathe. I spent so many nights worrying about SIDS when she was an infant that its habit, and comfort, and peace. No matter where I am in the country, the state, the time zone, the hour, or preferably the next room, I can click on my app and watch her sleeping safely in her bed. Watch her chest rise and fall, butt up and baby securely tucked under her arm...and all is right in the world ❤

Pictures with Papa...I mean Santa

We heard that Papa (hubby's dad) was playing Santa at work so we had to stop by! Oh what fun it is to see Cupcake love on Papa, I mean Santa....I mean Papa.

It's highly likely she will now call every Santa, "Papa". I guess there is only one way to test that theory...by going to a mall Santa and see if we get this same loving reaction or one more like last year.

"Papa, is that you?"

"Let me get a better look"

"Does this mean I get twice the gifts?"
